THROUGH THE YEARS
How to encompass, in a list of years, the dreams, visionary projects, conquests, intuitions and delight that have marked Ca’ del Bosco from its very first vintages to Franciacorta Cuvée Prestige?
Each step has its story, its memorable scent.
FROM A LITTLE HOUSE IN THE WOODS TO EXCELLENCE IN FRANCIACORTA
THE BIRTH OF FRANCIACORTA AND ITS WINES
1964 The magic began when Annamaria Clementi Zanella, Maurizio’s mother, bought the “Ca del bosc”, a little hillside house in Erbusco, a five-acre property in a dense chestnut wood.
1968 The vision began to take shape when the first Sylvoz vineyard was planted on the property.
1979 Young Maurizio Zanella, an intuitive dreamer, already imaging the bubblies that would conquer the world, brought on board French chef de cave André Dubois: with his valuable help production of premium sparkling wine began.
1985 The legendary dome from which branch off tunnels for storing Franciacorta and refining the wines was built at a depth of 17 meters below the ground.
1995 The cellars were expanded and the use of unique technologies for grape pressing and vinification commenced.
2000 Force-of-gravity began to be used both to transport the grapes, spilled into the press, and for musts and wines, decanted without using pumps.
2004 New bottling and “zero oxygen” degorging lines were installed. Ca’ del Bosco, its vineyards and wines, were the subject of an exhibit at the Milan Triennial: “11 Photographers 1 Wine”. Skira published the book, containing works by 11 great photographers.
